A global provider of asset tracking and fleet management solutions, helping clients run safe, efficient operations across land, sea, and air.
The Challenge
TerraMar were already on Snowflake. They were aware of the advantages but could not make the most of the AI Data Cloud’s capabilities while on a legacy data platform.
Their data team was small, had little experience with the modern stack, and felt overwhelmed by reporting requests.
The legacy system was highly fragmented, causing inconsistencies, slowing down reporting, and blocking data capabilities that users had been requesting over and over again.

Data strategy
We strategised a data platform that would ingest all data sources and support new ones, and that would leverage TerraMar’s existing Argo set-up.
Building a modern data platform
Having the blueprint ready and the roadmap in place, we implemented a cutting-edge data platform on the modern stack.
Setting up dbt for efficient data modelling and transformations directly in the warehouse empowered TerraMar to start leveraging the full potential of the Snowflake AI Data Cloud.
Advanced analytics
The new data platform supported advanced analytics and unlocked collaborative use of insights across domains.
Reporting became fully automated, tapping into tested, validated data, which was essential for auditing. Additionally, users could trust the insights and seamlessly develop new data products.
Upskilling
We trained TerraMar’s data users in the new technology and showed them best practices that would help maintain the infrastructure and optimise resources for return on the data investment.
The client’s team is now scaling the data platform independently, adding new data sources, launching data products, and improving user experience.
